Take It Make It Challenge: Winners Profile

Hello!
Welcome to our Winners Profile, showcasing the Design Winner of last month's Take It Make It challenge!
The very talented winner of the August 2019 challenge is:

Ann Chuang
find her here:

Ann won the challenge with this beautiful card. We loved the wonderful shades of green background, and the monochrome image works perfectly!

We asked Ann a few questions about stamping (well, we are Craft Stamper after all!)

Q: How long have you been a stamper, and how did you get started?
A: This summer, I will have been stamping for 7 years. In 2012 I accompanied my daughter to a paper art course, and there I got to know the stamping tools and began to make cards!

Q: What are your favourite kinds of stamps, and do you have a favourite stamp company?
A: There are a lot of stamps I like, but I prefer vintage style images. My favourite stamp companies are: Stampers Anonymous, Darkroom Door, PaperArtsy, Visible Image, Carabelle Studio, IndigoBlu, Simon Says Stamp and Altenew.

Q: Describe your style, are you a messy kind of stamper or a more 'clean and simple' kind of person?
A: I have no set style, and I don't want to! I like to follow my mind. But if I have to choose one, I think I have always been 'messy'. I do like mixing things up and trying new techniques.

Q: What kind of projects do you like creating the most?
A: I think I enjoy making cards the most, I especially like the vintage, shabby, steampunk style.

Q: Apart from stamps, what is the one product you wouldn't be without when you craft?
A: I can't work without ink pads when I craft. They can be used for both stamping AND colouring!.

We also asked Ann to share a couple of her favourite stamped creations with us, and tell us why she likes them so much. Here is what she has chosen:

"I had some 'wrinke free' fun using Distresspaints with some added crackle! I was really happy with the outcome of this vintage tag" -Ann

"I used a lot of PaperArtsy mini stamps making this Triple Time stamping project. I love the splatters and splodges, especially the embossing enamel" -Ann

Congratulations on being our August Design Winner Ann, it was lovely to learn a little more about you!

Do YOU fancy having a winners profile all about you on the CS blog?

The profile is part of the prize package for each Design Winner of our challenges. All you need to do is enter a creation into the challenge, then if you are voted Design Winner everyone will be reading all about you before you know it!

Brand New Art Call for 2020!

Good Morning!

We're starting 2020 with a whole host of new features in Craft Stamper!

I know, it's only September at present, but we need to get started with the art call for our first issue of 2020 right now :) The land of magazine publishing always works on a weird schedule......!

We are launching a brand new reader gallery for 2020:

Stamp Your Art Out!

This will take the place of our current Ready Set Stamp feature.
We want to broaden the scope a little for 2020, so from now on readers can submit ANY type of stamped art for this art call, not just cards. We're keeping a theme, but no colour options. Create with our chosen theme in mind, but with no colour restrictions whatsoever!

So....What are you waiting for?!
Check out the updated submission guidelines below, then send us a pic of your submission. We can't wait to see and share your art with the readers of Craft Stamper magazine!

January 2020 issue theme: Winter
Deadline for submissions: 22nd October 2019

· Please email your submissions to: editor.cs@mytimemedia.com
· Please put 'Stamp Your Art Out' followed by the theme in the subject line
· Please note that due to the number of submissions it's not possible to contact every entrant individually - if you have not heard from us within one week, your submission has not been successful. Please try again with a different project!

Guidelines:
  • Any type of project is welcomed for this gallery. Bear in mind however, that if your project is chosen, you will need to post it to our UK office! Heavy items or very delicate items that might not like our postal system would be best avoided!
  • If submitting Art Journal pages, we prefer loose pages NOT an entire Art Journal to be posted to us, if your submission is chosen.
  • Please follow the theme when creating your project!
  • NEW work only please, we do not accept projects that have been published elsewhere (including online) before submission.
  • All projects MUST feature stamped art work.
  • Any stamps used MUST be branded. Please do not use stamps sold without designer/manufacturer information on the original packaging.
  •  Stamps used MUST be available to buy currently, either from a UK stockist or a stockist with an international shipping policy that ships to the UK.
  • We do not accept projects using digital imagery exclusively for this feature. Digital imagery is welcome, but  MUST be used in conjunction with rubber/polymer stamping to qualify.
  •  Projects which are selected need to be posted to the Craft Stamper offices in the UK. The projects will be returned, along with a complimentary issue of the magazine.
  • This call IS open internationally.
  • Note that we do choose artwork as it arrives, so please don't wait until the last minute to submit if your project is ready.
  • Text for this article is required (don't worry - it is short!) and should be entered into the document provided – this will be sent to you if you are selected.
  •
We can't wait to see your fabulous creations!

Take It Make It Challenge: September

Welcome to the September Take It Make It Challenge!
Take a stamp and Make something amazing!

All our challenges are stamping challenges,
with an Anything Goes theme.

That means you can create whatever your imaginations dreams up, as long as you have used a hand stamped image on your creation somewhere!
We would love to see cards, art journal pages, tags, ATC's, AT Coins, canvas, 3D projects, layouts, planner pages etc etc. The list is endlesss, basically anything you love to create!
Any themes, any colours and styles, and you may use any kind of products and brands that you wish.

As ever, we have TWO winners each month. Firstly, we have a 'Design Winner'. This winner is chosen by our design team, who vote for their top three favourite projects from all eligible entries. Whichever design gets the most votes is declared the Design Winner.
The Design Winner of the challenge will be featured across a double page spread in Craft Stamper Magazine, and will also receive a Winner's Profile feature on the blog, as well as a Guest Designer slot for a future challenge. This is such a nice way of getting you and your art noticed!

Our second winner is our 'Random Winner', who is chosen at random from ALL eligible entries of the challenge. This winner will receive the Blog Challenge prize, which this month is.....

In order to be eligible to win either prize, the project submitted must abide by our challenge guidelines. These guidelines can be found under a tab at the top of the page, or to the right on our sidebar. PLEASE read before submitting, we would hate to have to declare a wonderful project ineligible!
We have had to exclude a few entries recently that have more than one project in a blog post. Remember, we only want to see ONE project, not a set or a group, no matter how similar!

We hope that wonderful prize may tempt you to enter!

Our wonderful Design Team have created some truly wonderful art to inspire us, which we'll be sharing both in this post, and in our Inspiration post next week! Sit down, grab a cuppa and enjoy!

WOW! Wonderful work from our DT :)
