Blog Exclusive: Carolyn Lakin for IndigoBlu

Good Morning!
In the April 2019 issue of Craft Stamper magazine, the super talented Carolyn Lakin shared a stunning accordian folded book with us. Using a multitude of stamps and products by IndigoBlu, we simply adored it!
As we wanted to showcase the book pages as well as the cover, we sadly didn't have space in the magazine to include the gorgeous card that Carolyn had also created for us. We can fix that right now though, and share it with you all today!

Simple Stitched Flower Card by Carolyn Lakin

INSTRUCTIONS: On a square piece of watercolour card, I added Tiger Lily Translucent paint through the
IndigoBlu Sea Urchin stencil. Using my Stamp Platform, I stamped the Stitched Flower over the stencilled area.
I stamped the flower head on a separate piece, painted with Tiger Lily to create a watercolour effect and fussy
cut. I then placed this in my Stamp Platform so I could over stamp with black VersaFine ink. This was adhered
to create dimension to the flower head. This was then mat and layered onto orange and then onto a black card
blank.

Thanks so much Carolyn!
The paints, stencil and stamps used on this stunning card can all be found in the IndigoBlu shop:

Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge: Winner's profile

Hello!
Welcome to our Winners Profile, showcasing the Design Winner of last month's Take It Make It challenge!
The very talented winner of the February 2019 challenge is:

Epie

Epie won the challenge with this beautiful card. We loved the great use of imagery, and the way the black accents make the blue/green colour scheme sing!

We asked Epie a few questions about stamping (well, we are Craft Stamper after all!)

Q: How long have you been a stamper, and how did you get started?
A: I have been stamping for 2 years, and I make other creative things too.
I got started with 3D and CAS projects, then I was invited to be Designer by 52WTC. After this, I was interested in stamping and it was amazing!

Q: What are your favourite kind of stamps, and do you have a favourite stamp company?
A: My favourite kind of stamps are many: Studio Light, Woodware and Penny Black stamps.

Q: Describe your style, are you a 'messy' kind of stamper or do you have more of a clean and simple style?
A: When I am in the mood, every day is different! Mostly am I a 'clean and simple'. It is a sort of therapy for me to be creative, a way of living .

Q: What kind of projects do you like creating the most?
A: I like to create mixed media, nature projects, animals, and cute Vintage Christmas projects.

Q: Apart from stamps, what is the one product you wouldn't be without when you craft?
A: When I am crafting, I like to work with Woodware stamps, they are amazing !!

We also asked Epie to share some of her favourite stamped creations with us, and tell us why she likes them so much. Here is what she has chosen:

"This is a older project from 2017, with stamped cats and die cuts on the card" - Epie

"Also a other project (slider card) I made with Woodware stamps and Memento ink on it" - Epie

Congraulations on being our February Design Winner Epie, it was lovely to learn a little more about you!
