Exclusive Blog Extra: Kath Stewart

Hello!
Kath Stewart has created the most stunning set of Christmas cards for the December issue of Craft Stamper!
We shared the picture of her amazing Rustic Christmas card in the magazine, and promised to share the step by step tutorial with you today!
Here is a reminder of the gorgeous card:

Rustic Christmas card by Kath Stewart

Stamps Kath used...
Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous: Watercolor Trees

Other materials...
Tim Holtz stencil: Plaid Layering
Ranger Mini Distress Ink: Shabby Shutters; Peeled Paint; Forest Moss; Candied Apple; Walnut Stain; Antique Linen
Ranger Distress Crayon: Picket Fence
Ranger Distress Marker: Frayed Burlap
Christmas Clippings Stickers
Christmas Quote Chips
Christmas Design Tape
Christmas Typed Tokens
White thread
Ranger Enamel Accents: White
Masking paper
Embossing powder: Clear

Step-by-step....

1 Place the tree stamp onto the card and lightly trace around it with a pencil. Lay the Bauble stamp within the outline and stamp with Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

2 Stamp the tree image as before with the Distress Inks.

3 Stamp the garland, stars and pot for the tree with Candied Apple Distress Oxide and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

4 Apply Distress Oxide Antique Linen through the Plaid Layering Stencil using the blending tool, but this time turn the stencil on the diagonal for a different look.

5 Stamp the stars inked with Peeled Paint Distress ink.

6 Fix the Christmas Clipping Stickers in place and create shadows using the Frayed Burlap Distress Marker, fading them out with the Ranger Detailer Water Brush. Add Christmas Design Tape.

To finish the project: Highlight the words on the Christmas Typed Tokens with the Picket Fence Distress Crayon, decorate one with a thread bow and hang the remainder from the top of the card with thread. Add splatters of Peeled Paint Distress Ink diluted with water to the background and dots of Ranger White Enamel Accents. Ink around the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and matt on to the card blank coloured with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

Thank you so much Kath, we love it!
