Take It Make It Blog Challenge: Winners profile

Hello!

Welcome to our Winners Profile, showcasing the Design Winner of our last Blog Challenge!

The very talented Design Winner of our August 2017 challenge is

Carola Marwedel

Carola won the challenge with this beautiful card! We loved the fabulous combination of images, alongside the atmospheric background. Wonderful!

We asked Carola a few questions all about stamping (well, we are Craft Stamper after all!)

Q: How long have you been a stamper, and how did you get started?

A: I started stamping 9 years ago as a Cute Stamper, then turned to Non-Cute.

Q: What are your favourite kinds of stamps, and do you have a favourite stamp company?

A: I love all Stampscape stamps and the drops designed by Ryn. I also like stamps from Tim Holtz and the adorable animals from Katzelkraft, Carabelle Studio und Visible Image

Q: Describe your style, are you a messy kind of stamper or a more ‘clean and simple’ kind of person?

A: Both, getting messy with paint and also CAS.

Q:What kind of projects do you like creating the most?

A: Cards as well as ATC’s and Art Journals.

Q: Apart from stamps, what is the one product you wouldn’t be without when you craft?

A: Different Inks/Paints, i.e. Distress Inks/Oxide, Brusho and Spectrum Noir
Markers. Also the Gelli Plate, Stencils und sometimes the Cameo.

We also asked Carola to show us  favourite stamped creations,  and share why she likes them so much. Here are the gorgeous projects she has chosen:

"A landscape using stamps by Stampscape and coloured with Distress Inks"- Carola

"On the left card I used a stencil from Ryn, on the right card I used a stencil created with the Silhouette and Brusho on the background. I embossed  the background in white, sprinkled brusho over it and spritzed with water. Then I stamped Drops and text.
Both cards can be found on my blog here: http://caroskreativewelt.blogspot.de/2016/01/brusho-und-embossing.html"- Carola

Congratulations on being our August Design Winner Carola , and it was lovely to learn a little more about you!

Do YOU fancy having a winners profile all about you on the CS blog?

The profile is part of the prize package for each Design Winner of our challenges. All you need to do is enter a creation into the challenge, then if you are voted Design Winner everyone will be reading all about you before you know it!

Blog Exclusive: Linda Walmsley

Hello!
In the October issue of Craft Stamper magazine, Linda Walmsley has created two stunning cards for our Stamping Contrasts feature. This feature showcases just how versatile a set of stamps can be, in this case the Indigo Skies set by Kaisercraft. Linda excelled herself with this set, and created a stunning box too! We're sharing it here for you exclusively on the blog today :)

Hello Beautiful Trinket Box
By Linda Walmsley

Materials List:
STAMPS: Kaisercraft – Indigo Skies. INKS: Tim Holtz Distress Oxides; VersaFine – Onyx Black; Memento DewDrop; VersaMark. OTHER: Small wooden box; IndigoBlu Gee-Soo-Good! – White; Americana Décor Chalky Finish paint; Prima Art Alchemy paint – Sparks; Metallique; Opal Magic; Imagination Crafts – Structure Paste; Tim Holtz stencil – Floral; WOW! Embossing Powder – Opaque White; Rich Gold; Clear Gloss; glitter glue; sequins.

After receiving the Indigo Skies stamp set, I imagined some of the designs working perfectly as decoration for a trinket box. First, I gave the box a coat of white gesso, and applied paste through a stencil randomly onto the box. Next came a layer of acrylic paint, before using the stamps to add the detail. I then used VersaMark ink to stamp the images and heat embossed the words and decorative border with gold powder, and the butterflies with white.

I then dry brushed over the box with the Prima paints, paying special attention to the stencilled area. The dry brushing adds a touch of colour and shimmer and brings out the detail of the stencil design. To finish, I stamped and embossed the butterfly again onto a piece of white card coloured using the same Prima paints, and then fussy cut and attached onto the box to add dimension.

Thanks Linda! We love this gorgeous box, such a lovely keepsake for special memories!

Don't forget, check out the Win! tab on our website www.craftstamper.com in order to enter all our giveaways. A set of these stunning stamps is up for grabs this month!
