Hello!
Welcome to our Winners Profile, showcasing the Design Winner of last month's Take It Make It challenge!
The very talented winner of the April 2019 challenge is:
Tracey won the challenge with this amazing project. We loved the wonderful vintage feel, the delicate images and all the layering of textures!
We asked Tracey a few questions about stamping (well, we are Craft Stamper after all!)
How long have you been a stamper, and how did
you get started?
My love of stamps first began when I was given a Post Office stamp and
stationery set on my 5th Birthday, 45 years on I still can not resist a
postmark stamp or any come to think of it...
What are your favourite kinds of stamps, and do
you have a favourite stamp company?
Stamps depicting nature or portraiture I always find alluring, with so
many talented stamp designers out there it’s impossible to choose a favourite
but at present I am really enjoying the designs from Stamperia, StudioLight and
AALL & Create.
Describe your style, are you a messy kind of
stamper or a more ‘clean and simple’ kind of person?!
I’m definitely a messy stamper, I tinker around with my makes far too
much for them to stay clean and simple for long.
What kind of projects do you like creating the
most?
Mixed media projects are my favourite where I can recycle and breathe
new life into old things, working with a variety of material means I can add
extra attention to the detail.
Apart from stamps, what is the one product you
wouldn’t be without when you craft?
That would have to be a pencil, it’s an invaluable tool and not just
for mark making.
We
also asked Tracey to share a couple of her favourite stamped creations
with us, and to tell us why she likes them so much. Here are the works
of art she has chosen:
1: Needle book & pin cushion
"Many of my most loved creation’s have been the ones I have created for
other’s. I love the harmony of this neutral colour palette and how a few simple
stitches and beads adds dimension to this Paperbabe stamped Peony flower pin
cushion" - Tracey
2: Mixed Media Paperartsy large tag
"I can still feel the overwhelming joy when I received this Paperartsy
stamp set three years ago for Mother’s Day, created for a Paperartsy *Blue and
Ochre* blog challenge I really lost myself in a creative moment colouring and
fussy cutting Kim Dellows magnificent blooms" - Tracey
