The Inspirational January Issue of Craft Stamper Magazine hits the shops this Friday!

The January issue of Craft Stamper magazines will hit the shops this Friday! Subscribers will be receiving their copies very soon, if they haven't landed already!

Are you organised for Christmas yet? Made all your own cards, or decided nobody appreciates them enough so given in and bought some from the shops? I must admit I’m guilty of the latter, very bah-humbug of me!

Our January issue is crammed full of seasonal makes, so who knows, we may just inspire you to make some last minute cards or gifts!  Emilia has created a stunning winter house for us, I adore the non traditional pink colour scheme! Why not have a go using a white on white palette for that extra snowy look?

I’m having to pinch myself a little, we have not one but TWO stamping greats sharing projects with us this issue! Both Barbara Gray and Dawn Bibby have done us proud with some stunning creations on pages 28 and 36 respectively. We are thrilled to have Barbara as part of the Craft Stamper family this year, this feature is the start of a wonderful series of Clarity style inspiration! We can’t wait to see the amazing projects she has in store for us, with this gorgeous card being just the first!

Dawn has created two stunning Christmas cards for us, a gorgeously 'non'traditional' colour scheme used to great effect!

We also have a wonderfully detailed wall hanging from Emma Godfrey....

an amazingly textured decoration by Monika Januszewsa- Rosik...

and some stunning Christmas cards in our RSS gallery in this issue, like this one crerated by Sam Read!

Lots for you all to experiment with, and don’t forget, I would love to see what you create! Email me, or share on our Facebook page!

So, where can you get your hands on a copy of the magazine?
For subscriptions, please go to: www.craftstamper.com
For single print issues : www.mags-uk.com

Take It Make It Challenge: Winners Profile

Hello!

Welcome to our Winners Profile, showcasing the Design Winner of our last Blog Challenge!

The very talented Design Winner of our October 2017 challenge is

Jenny Martin

 From:
 My Paper Epiphany

Jenny won the challenge with this beautiful card! We loved the wonderfully wintery theme, the fabulous robin and the skill involved in creating a shaker card! Wonderful!

We asked Jenny a few questions all about stamping (well, we are Craft Stamper after all!)

Q: How long have you been a stamper, and how did you get started?

A: I started stamping about 20 years ago when my Mum wanted me to make some invitations. I only became an avid stamper about 6 years ago, when I attended a Stampin Up class and heard about Splitcoaststampers, which lead me to the world of blogging.

Q: What are your favourite kinds of stamps, and do you have a favourite stamp company?

A: Like everyone, I have many favourites, but  Penny Black have a very special place my heart! If was only allowed to have stamps from one company - it would be them

Q: Describe your style, are you a messy kind of stamper or a more ‘clean and simple’ kind of person?

A: I’ve been told by others that my style is CAS, but I also enjoy making layered, vintage and mixed media too and love getting inky!

Q:What kind of projects do you like creating the most?

A: Definitely cards. I have made a few Scrapbook layouts, mini albums, mixed media canvas etc, but cardmaking is my first love.

Q: Apart from stamps, what is the one product you wouldn’t be without when you craft?

A: Impossible to choose! Well inks of course, my go to at the moment are Distress inks and Zig Markers.

We also asked Jenny to show us  favourite stamped creations,  and share why she likes them so much. Here are the gorgeous projects she has chosen:

"This was my first published card" -Jenny

"These are my favourite Penny Black images" -Jenny

Congratulations on being our September Design Winner Jenny, and it was lovely to learn a little more about you!

Do YOU fancy having a winners profile all about you on the CS blog?

The profile is part of the prize package for each Design Winner of our challenges. All you need to do is enter a creation into the challenge, then if you are voted Design Winner everyone will be reading all about you before you know it!

Exclusive Blog Extra: Kath Stewart

Hello!
Kath Stewart has created the most stunning set of Christmas cards for the December issue of Craft Stamper!
We shared the picture of her amazing Rustic Christmas card in the magazine, and promised to share the step by step tutorial with you today!
Here is a reminder of the gorgeous card:

Rustic Christmas card by Kath Stewart

Stamps Kath used...
Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous: Watercolor Trees

Other materials...
Tim Holtz stencil: Plaid Layering
Ranger Mini Distress Ink: Shabby Shutters; Peeled Paint; Forest Moss; Candied Apple; Walnut Stain; Antique Linen
Ranger Distress Crayon: Picket Fence
Ranger Distress Marker: Frayed Burlap
Christmas Clippings Stickers
Christmas Quote Chips
Christmas Design Tape
Christmas Typed Tokens
White thread
Ranger Enamel Accents: White
Masking paper
Embossing powder: Clear

Step-by-step....

1 Place the tree stamp onto the card and lightly trace around it with a pencil. Lay the Bauble stamp within the outline and stamp with Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

2 Stamp the tree image as before with the Distress Inks.

3 Stamp the garland, stars and pot for the tree with Candied Apple Distress Oxide and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

4 Apply Distress Oxide Antique Linen through the Plaid Layering Stencil using the blending tool, but this time turn the stencil on the diagonal for a different look.

5 Stamp the stars inked with Peeled Paint Distress ink.

6 Fix the Christmas Clipping Stickers in place and create shadows using the Frayed Burlap Distress Marker, fading them out with the Ranger Detailer Water Brush. Add Christmas Design Tape.

To finish the project: Highlight the words on the Christmas Typed Tokens with the Picket Fence Distress Crayon, decorate one with a thread bow and hang the remainder from the top of the card with thread. Add splatters of Peeled Paint Distress Ink diluted with water to the background and dots of Ranger White Enamel Accents. Ink around the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and matt on to the card blank coloured with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

Thank you so much Kath, we love it!
