Take It Make It Challenge: Winner's Profile

Hello!
Welcome to our Winners Profile, showcasing the Design Winner of last month's Take It Make It challenge!
The very talented winner of the February 2019 challenge is:

Carole Jones

Carole won the challenge with this amazing project. We loved the background, the textures and the colours... and the blooms are gorgeous too!

We asked Carole a few questions about stamping (well, we are Craft Stamper after all!)

How long have you been a stamper, and how did you get started?

I started card making about four years ago. I watched lots of card making process videos and this encouraged me to try stamping. Once I had a stamping platform, I was up and running.

What are your favourite kinds of stamps, and do you have a favourite stamp company?

I like quirky characters, vintage stamps, florals and animals – a strange mix, but that's me! I have several favourite companies including AALL & Create, PaperArtsy, Rubber Dance, Lost Coast Designs, Carmen's Veranda and Inkylicious.

Describe your style, are you a messy kind of stamper or a more ‘clean and simple’ kind of person?!

I am most definitely a messy stamper. I have trouble leaving white space.

What kind of projects do you like creating the most?

I like making cards, tags, ATCs and MDF projects.

Apart from stamps, what is the one product you wouldn’t be without when you craft?

That would have to be my markers. I use Copic Markers for colouring and Posca pens for detailing.

We also asked Carole to share a favourite stamped creation with us, and to tell us why she likes it so much. Here is the work of art she has chosen:

"I was pleased with how my Cat and Bird card turned out. This Lost Coast Designs stamp is stunning in its own right, but I think the smooshed Distress Oxide background makes it more eye-catching. The colours resemble autumn time with second generation stamped florals from Rubber Dance in the background and the foreground foliage and wildflowers from Inkylicious giving a feeling of perspective. The Cat and Bird were stamped twice; once directly onto the background and once onto white card which was fussy cut and adhered over the background. Black and white mats add a frame around the image" - Carole
