Hello!
Welcome to our Winners Profile, showcasing the Design Winner of last month's Take It Make It challenge!
The very talented winner of the March 2019 challenge is:
Marjan Küppers
Marjan won the challenge with this amazing project. We loved the delicate background with the stitched top, the wonderful cloud effect, and of course the fabulous bee!
We asked Marjan a few questions about stamping (well, we are Craft Stamper after all!)
I think I began
using stamps around 2014. Before that I used design papers more and made
scrapbooks. Stamping was only used for the sentiment on a card. I became
interested in using inks, paints and sprays and began using stamps more and more.
Now I seldom use design papers!
What are your favourite kinds of stamps, and do you have a favourite stamp company?
I do not really
have a favourite company, but I do love nature stamps and many companies have
such beautiful ones. Like Altenew, Ranger has beauties and Darkroom Door or Art
Journey.
Describe your style, are you a messy kind of
stamper or a more ‘clean and simple’ kind of person?!
I do not have a
fixed style, I love working messy with mixed media or colouring with Copic
Markers or working with watercolour and inks. But I also like CAS sometimes. It
also depends on the project. Cards or journal pages, mini albums.
What kind of projects do you like creating the most?
I love making journal
pages but do not always have inspiration. I also love making all kinds of
cards.
Apart from stamps, what is the one product you
wouldn’t be without when you craft?
Cardstock to
mat things on because I make cards mostly, and certainly my reading glasses!
We also asked Marjan to share a couple of her favourite stamped creations with us, and to tell us why she likes them so much. Here are the works of art she has chosen:
"A card made with alcohol inks. I saw this technique on YouTube and had to try this myself. You blow out the alcohol on Yupo paper. It was not easy, but was so much fun making it and seeing how the inks flow into each other and also form other tints." - Marjan
"I made this for a challenge from Art Journey. I
loved making this, the background with various inks, the stamping and colouring.
It really expresses my love of natures beauty" - Marjan
Congratulations on being our March Design Winner Marjan, it was lovely to learn a little more about you!
