Take It Make It Blog Challenge: DT CALL!

********** DT CALL NOW CLOSED, THANK YOU TO ALL THAT APPLIED!***********

Hello!
The first term for the Take It Make It design team is nearly over, so we are looking to recruit an equally talented and dedicated team going forward from September!

You need to be able to:

-Commit to making two STAMPED pieces of artwork to a specified theme each month. The DT term is six months, starting with the September 2014 challenge.
-Be able to take a good photo of your work for inclusion on the blog (this doesn't have to be pro standard but it does need to be clear, in crisp focus, and reasonably well lit);
-Subscribe to or be able to purchase Craft Stamper so you know what our magazine is all about!
-Have a reasonably active blog;
-Have an active Facebook account. The DT is run via a closed FB group, so members must be able to access and participate in this group!
-Be prepared to promote your challenge artwork on your own blog, on Facebook and other outlets with which you have involvement;
-Be able to turn your artwork around promptly with relatively short notice (2/3 weeks).

You get to have your art featured on our blog alongside the regular CS DT and we will link your artwork back to your personal blog. We will also include your blog details on our sidebar.

If you want to be part of the Craft Stamper family then please send THREE examples of your best stamped work to craftstamper.blogdt@outlook.com by MONDAY 14TH JULY 2014
Good luck!

Now for the Challenge details!
We want to see how you lovely lot tackle a technique showcased in Craft Stamper magazine.
Hels Sheridan has a wonderful project in the July issue, showcasing a technique she has invented called Bleach Blocking.
 So, we would love to see your creations using
 The Bleach Blocking Technique!
Bleach Blocking? This is a wonderfully simple, but oh so effective way to create a background. Simply colour your cardstock with Distress Inks, then remove some of the ink using a clean, damp blending tool. Because you have a rectangular blending tool, the 'bleached out' areas will appear in blocks!

Along with some of the regular Craft Stamper DT, the Take It , Make It DT have created some fabulous eye candy using the bleach blocking technique.
If you click on the artists name, it will take you to their blogs, where there may well be loads more pics of these gorgeous creations!

 Have we inspired YOU to have a play and enter? Yay!!!
All you need to do now is have a read through the boring (but essential!) rules and guidelines, then upload your entry using the Linky tool at the end of the post! Can't wait to see what you create!

Do you love our challenges as much as we do? Feel free to grab the button and display it with pride!

  • Entry is via the linking tool at the end of the post. We are very sorry that we can't accept email entries to this challenge. Taking It A Little Further With Lydia

Howdy there! So it's my fourth month posting as a designer here on the Craft Stamper Magazine Blog, every first Thursday I'll be sharing a card taking an idea from my article that month.

This month I had a one layer card featured in the 'Just One Layer' article, that one was very muted and girly and I wanted to create a more viberant and unisex card using nearly the same technique.

*Firstly mask around a panel in the middle of your card- I have used washi tape around the edge of my card layer.
*I have then stamped leaves from Wplus9's 'Spring Blooms' in two different green chalk inks around the edge of the washi frame, as chalk ink takes a while to dry I then heat set it with my heat tool.
*I then tool a mini bleanding tool and Distress Ink to blend inward starting on the washi tape and blending lightly inward.
*Gently remove the washi tape, keeping it as flat as you can to reduce the chances of ripping your card.
*Add your sentiment- I have used Winnie & Walter's 'The Big, The Bold And You'.

Here you can see how flat the card is......

If you have created something that was inspired by my article I would totally love to see it... so if you would like to leave a link to your project in the comments section or on my blog Love Lydia Brooke and I'll pop on over and take a look.

Hugs, Lydia xxx
