New issue and congratulations Susan!

The new issue is out tomorrow, Friday 4th December (well officially anyway, although I know some of the shops have it already).

For the first time, our January issue is not completely Christmas themed, so I hope you will like the change. We toned down the Christmas content as I know a lot of you have made your seasonal creations already - unlike me!

We have also revealed the results of our Stamper of the Year competition 2009. Susan Jenney's was crowned overall winner and for an extra special treat her canvas is featured on our front cover as the main image. Bet that was a shock heh Susan?! Instructions for creating Susan's canvas are here on our website - it's has so much going on we couldn't fit all the text into the mag!
Congratulations too to our category winners Clare Earl (best card) and Vicky Fothergill (best non-card creation).

I hope you will join me in congratulating Susan, Clare, Vicky and all the finalists.

Katy x

  2. Very glad to hear that the Jan issue is not all Christmas! It usually serves only to remind me that I have now no chance of getting enough Christmas cards made!

On a more serious note, I think that many magazines go completely over the top with the number of issues filled with Christmas items. Quite apart from the fact that there are many people who do not celebrate Christmas, it seems to me to be out of proportion for a once-a-year event. Certainly I like to see new ideas for Christmas projects, but not too many. We still need ideas for other occasions and events at this time of year.

It is for this reason that I rarely buy magazine subscriptions, so that I do not have to purchase the issues which don't interest me. (Having said that, I have never missed an issue of Craft Stamper!)I'd be very interested to hear others' views on this subject.

  3. Yes I must agree with you Lynne, I also get fed up with seeing nothing but Christmas items in many craft magazines during Nov/Dec. So it was great to see a variety of non-Christmas items in CS this month. I'd like to add my congratulations to Susan - I thought her canvas was fabulous work!

  4. Well, I got my copy this morning, & it may not have much Christmassy in it, but it's a cracker! Some great projects. I particularly like Helen Chilton's scrap cards. And Susan's winning canvas is wonderful - congratulations to her.

Have to say that I think the new-look Craft Stamper is getting better and better, so keep up the good work, Katy!
